My Technology Goals and Expectations
What are my personal technological goals?
I would like to become more fluent with my technology skills. I want to be able to take an educational application and utilize it properly. I have used technology in a variety of ways throughout my educational career - ipads, chromebooks, laptops, and several programs. My goal is to learn about as many devices, programs, and applications available to assist me in the classroom. As a teacher I want to be fluent and be able to teach my students how these advancements can help them. Another goal that I have is to take what I learn from this course and utilize it into my teaching practices.
What do I expect to gain from this course?
I expect to gain confidence in using a variety of technology in the classroom from this course. I am excited for this class to teach me more applications that I can use in my future classroom. After reviewing the syllabus, I am looking forward to investigating the programs that we will be reviewing each week. While I am aware of some of the content, I am hoping we go in depth with each program.
Predict how this course might fit into your future aspirations?
My plans for the future include being an elementary teacher. This course will prepare me by giving me tools to use to excite my students about their learning. I do not want to be a regular classroom teacher - I want to be a powerful, engaging, and interactive teacher. I believe this course will give me the courage to apply technology in the classroom. I could potentially see myself becoming an edtech teacher or in a technology classroom.
I have previously been in FOED 3010- Education Technology in the Classroom. My expectations have definitely changed since then, since I have learned so much. Before my goals were to learn about these programs - now, my goals are to learn how to apply and use these programs in the classroom.
